Animal Care Attendant

• Providing and maintaining high standard for animal care and housing

• Handling and transportation of companion animals

• Temperament testing and rehoming suitability

• Maintaining and monitoring animal health and wellbeing and administering treatments 

• Assisting with euthanasia procedure

Animal Movement Administrator 

• Assessing surrender applications for incoming companion animals whilst displaying high level of empathy and respect to customers

• Dealing appropriately with difficult and emotional situations

• Booking of surrender appointments, incoming animals from external shelter facilities and movement of animals within shelter 

​

Adoptions Counsellor

• Assessing applications from general public for companion animal adoptions and contacting accordingly to discuss suitability​

• Booking meet and greet appointments

• Conducting meet and greets whilst providing high level of knowledge regarding animal behaviour and requirements

• High level of knowledge regarding animal behaviour and specific breed traits

• Conducting surrender appointments whilst demonstrating high level of empathy and respect

Gold Coast City Pound Attendant

• Intake and outtake of animals 

• Daily husbandry tasks, preparation and provision of food and water and provision of enrichment

• Back of house duties for transfer of GCCC animals to AWLQ

• Knowledge of procedures when caring for dangerous and declared or menacing animals

• Assistance with euthanasia procedures

On-site First Aid Officer 

• Responding to injured or ill staff, volunteers or public and providing appropriate first aid treatment 

​

On-site Snake Catcher

• Knowledge of local snake species

• Knowledge of capture, restraint and handling techniques specific to snake species and ability to use restraint equipment appropriately

• First aid of venomous snake bites
